Great attention to cleaning and sanitizing healthcare environments

Hospitals have special requirements to meet for sanitation to help ensure diseases do not spread. This is vital for infection, prevention, control, and the overall patient welfare. Patients who come in contact with these places normally occupy one or more beds, sometimes these patients are infected with a variety of diseases some being highly contagious. In hospitals and doctor’s offices patients are always entering and leaving, with that high of a turnover, it becomes a challenge to clean equipment effectively.

The hospital bed is the most frequently used piece of equipment in the clinical area. In hospitals, many beds are rolled from room to room and sometimes used to transport the patients.

The purpose of cleaning and disinfecting or sterilization the hospital bed before assigning it to a new user is to minimize the risk of infectious disease from contaminated surfaces making it safe for use. The hospital bed should be sanitized as soon as possible after it is no longer needed by the previous user. Bed components, including bed frames (the bed frame includes the undercarriage, hydraulics, wheels, elevation levers, and accessories attached such as bed rails) and mattresses may become contaminated by microorganisms through direct contact with skin and bodily fluids, becoming a source of infections. It is recommended that the bed, including the frame, mattress and base, should be decontaminated between each patient and once per week, if the bed is occupied by the same patient.
On the market now, there are options of large automatic washers or custom-built cranes for the handling and cleaning of hospital beds. Both solutions are pricey and do not effectively clean the wheels of the beds which is one of the biggest problems faced.

Interthor has come up with a cost effective solution for handling and cleaning of hospital beds, which is currently being used in Swedish hospitals. With the Interthor Logitilt, you are able to lift and tilt the bed giving you access to the wheels either for cleaning or for replacing. Also, the option to clean or service the motor located in the lower bed frame is possible with the bed tilted. With the Logitilt, you can quickly and efficiently clean the underside and wheels of the hospital bed. You can also wipe down the top of the bed without bending; you can stand comfortably and ergonomically correct without strain with the bed tilted up.

The Interthor Logitilt is highly flexible and efficient. It can transport, lift, and tilt otherwise awkward and bulky items. Tilting can be activated by remote control, and the tilting degree can be set so the Logitilt stops automatically in the same titling angle each time up to 90 degrees, and the working height can be adjusted. The Logitilt is very durable with a long operating life, low maintenance costs, and strong construction. With safety in mind, the Interthor Logitilt has foot protectors, a parking brake, and emergency stop. The handle is ergonomically correct and provides the user a relaxed hold; it can also be turned and locked. With the Logitilt’s short overall measurements, it has optimum space utilization.

The Interthor Logitilt has adjustable forks, so that it can easily be adjusted to fit most types of hospital beds. Clamping devices are delivered with the hospital version of the Logitilt, so that the beds can be fixed to the Interthor Logitilt when lifting and tilting. The clamping devices are specially designed to fit the individual hospital bed.
